This variation of the Noris Eco offers an eraser-tipped pencil with an HB lead grade. The method used in the production of these pencils utilises more of the wood from each tree to reduce waste.
Traditionally pencils are made from long grained wood with the grain running from the tip to the end of the pencil, this produces a pencil that is strong and easy to sharpen, but only suitable pieces of wood can be used.
The Noris Eco is made in a completely different way - instead of using large pieces of long grained wood, the majority of each tree is shredded to create a fine powder which is then mixed and extruded - along with the lead and the paint finish to create a pencil with virtually no waste. The end result is a pencil with a uniform wood case that is very strong and easy to sharpen.
