
The Pen of the Year 2006 from Graf von Faber-Castell is an important limited edition pen.
The magnum size barrel is made of ebony with inlaid mammoth tusk ivory. The ivory is obtained in the Siberian summer as melting ice flows release the ivory perfectly preserved in pure ice. All the ivory undergoes scientific scrutiny before export is allowed.
The ivory is cut, ground and polished by Jurgen Schot the grand master of the guild of ivory carvers in the Odenwald region near Heidelberg. It is then inlaid in the Ebony heart wood barrel.
The Pen of the Year 2006 is a plunger-fill fountain pen with an intricate bi-colour 18-carat gold nib.
Each piece is individually numbered and certificated.
