The Intuition collection from Graf von Faber-Castell exude quality from the gleaming polished finish to the elegant, pure shape.
The barrel of each of the Intuition collection is made from a single solid piece of precious resin polished to a high gloss finish. The resin barrel is completed by the platinum plated finish to metal parts of the pen or pencil.
The Intuition fountain pen and rollerball pens feature a gently flared end to the barrel to aid grip and comfort, whilst, the ball pen and mechanical pencil have a barely perceptible change between the resin barrel and metal front part of the pen.
The Intuition collection is available in black, terracotta and ivory - the terracotta and ivory barrels offset nicely with the black cap of the fountain and rollerball pens.
The Intuition collection are available as fountain pens, rollerball pens, ball pens and a 0.7mm pencil.
The fountain pens have 18-carat bi-colour gold nib available in 5 widths.
The shape and design of the Intuition are quite remarkable. Balance is right up with the best I have owned. I also have tendonitis in my thumb, the larger circumference section is perfectly sized for comfort. The nib is incredible, smooth and beautiful. The only mark on this pen, the feed seems to dry out periodically as others have found.
Nice, but choose your ink
A fantastically engineered pen. The cap clips on with a good firm click. I prefer screw tops but this is OK. I really like the spring-loaded clip - it feels like quality. The flare of the cap is more than I expected. The tip of the cap is 15 mm, whereas the end of the pen is 11 mm. Doesn't sound much, but it looks it. To get into the pen you have to unscrew the knurled silver knob at the end of the pen - again this is very smooth and feels very well made. You cannot put the pen back together incorrectly as it is engineered to stop this and it works perfectly. The nib is a thing of beauty. I love writing with it and it is high on my list of favourites from a large collection. I have it filled with Diamine Ancient Copper ink, which makes a fantastic combination with the orange of the pen. However, I find it dries out very quickly and clogs the nib. I have problems with it skipping, which I first noticed on page three of a long and boring letter. The tines of the nib didn't seem to be well-aligned, but that could well be because I use a writing slope and the angle may have placed the nib under uneven pressure. i am reluctant to change the ink as it is such a great colour with this pen, but I shall have to try one that flows more freely before I start to blame the pen! I was unsure about the shape of the pen, but it is perfect for my rather large hands.
Very comfortable to hold. Writes very smoothly. Had some problems with it drying up when writing a lot. Looking closely at the nib, the tines were out of alignment. Seems better now. Quite a wet writer (med nib), but used with copper ink it looks really good. Pen fell out of cap when stored in bag. That is the problem with clip lids rather than screw-on. Extremely well engineered pen. One of my favourites. Excellent service -arrived next day! Very well packaged.
The Graf von Faber-Castell is wonderfully light and easily manoeuvrable; and the service at The Pen Company is outstanding: competent and well-informed advice, given in a personable and very attentive manner.

beautifully made and proportioned pen. just right for everyday use. Nib is exceptionally smooth. terracotta colour is more muted than it appears in many photos and looks very stylish. Service from Pen Company truly excellent. Free next day delivery and a very competitive price, significantly less than most mainstream and (so far as I can see) online retailers. very impressed and will certainly recommend.
