Description
  • The Carbon 3000 Varius collection from Caran d'Ache features a high gloss carbon fibre barrel, made of 3000 interlaced strands of carbon fiber set within a clear resin. Inspiration for the collection has been taken from racing and sailing to create a pen with a strong high-tech form.

All metal parts of the Carbon 3000 are rhodium coated, silver plated brass to give a resilient lustrous finish.

The Caran d'ache Varius Carbon 3000 collection comprises a fountain pen with 18-carat gold nib, a rollerball and propelling ball pen and 0.7mm mechanical pencil.

The fountain pen is available in six nib widths: extra fine, fine, medium, broad, oblique medium and oblique broad and accepts standard cartridges or may be filled from an inkwell.

An Excellent Pen in All Respects.

I've owned this pen for a few weeks now, using it at home and at work, and I'm very happy with it. The quality of manufacture is excellent, and the writing experience is too. Ink flow is uniform (I have the Medium nib), the nib is smooth on most kinds of paper, and I (personally) like the feel of the rounded hexagonal shape of the barrel. The pen is not quite as 'in your face' as some of my larger pens, it's value is more understated, but it's a real pleasure to use and, in my opinion, well worth the price tag.
