The Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2006 features panels of fossilised mammoth tusk (recovered from receding glaciers) set in eboney wood.
The barrel of the Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2007 has eight separate panels, each inlaid with polished petrified wood.
Inspired by the extensive panelling and wooden flooring in the Lemon Room of the Faber-Castell castle, Graf von Faber-Castell's Pen of the Year 2008 uses rare Satin wood to create a beautiful parquet barrel.
Graf von Faber-Castell's Pen of the Year 2009 features the near forgotten artisan process of weaving with horse hair. The hair (taken from the tail) has been skilfully woven in to a cylinder to form the outer barrel of this limited edition pen.
The Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2011 unlike any of its predecessors features a hexagonal barrel. Each facet of the barrel has been exquisitely inlaid with a Jade panel.
Created in homage to the work of Carl Jung this double-ended fountain pen (to reflect Jung's work on duality) comes complete with a crystal inkwell the top of which features two circling serpents in which the pen is suspended, hovering, by magnets. Limited to 1038 pieces.
