Lamy, Lamy, Lamy Spirit every time. It is one of my two all time favourite design pieces – the other is the Mondaine watch. I have used the ball pen since 2003, lost several times and always replaced. I buy this pen/set for everyone I know on their birthday. The slim feel can take getting used to but one a Lamy lover, always a Lamy lover! x

I hesitate to get into fountain pens due to the cost and my own ghastly handwriting, so I’m mostly into rollers and gel pens.

Tell us what type of pen you prefer to use – are you a fountain pen fanatic or do you roll with rollerballs? l’ve become lazy and l go with rollerballs though l much prefer fountain pens

Nice giveaway. I love pens and I love your reviews! I personally prefer ballpoint being a lefty and haven’t been able to find the right fountain pen ink to solve ink bleeding.

I love all pens, but at home I use a fountain pen when I can. At work I use rollerballs in case someone takes it,

I tend to like Rollerballs a bit more. Love fountain pens, but don’t always love the work they often require.

Rollerball all of the way, although I do own a few fountain pens and do write cards with them as it makes me feel like I am putting extra effort and love into the card!

I used to only use gel pens, then I started to use hybrid ballpoint pens, and now I love my fountain pens & have seriously spent way too much…

I like fountain pens better than gel pens, but more often than not I end up using gel pens due to bad paper. In terms of fountain pens I prefer stiff nibs, but most importantly, it’s all about the ink!

I used to be a gel ink pen fanatic, but then late last year, after many years of browsing through pretty fountain pen pictures, I tried writing with a fountain pen and loved it. Haven’t looked back ever since.

I still use the fountain pen I was given when I was at 6th form college, but have to admit to using a rollerball as well

I am Lamyless.. and have tried them in the stores and like them, but always strayed back to my existing Pelikans. I would love to have a Lamy.

I use fountain pens exclusively most days now. Where I know the environment I will be writing in be rough i.e. the FP will get damaged / dropped, I will opt for a rollerball.

Very recently now, a fountain pen fanatic, but after that I prefer fine, fine gel pens (Uni Signo DX at 0.38 currently my favorite)

  17. Claire Barker at 5:19 pm

I prefer to use a fountain pen but as I am left handed I have to turn the paper and write down wards so that I don’t smudge what I have written!

  18. ikkinlala at 3:12 am

If I had to pick just one I’d choose rollerball because I use them for all the everyday routine things, but fountain pens are way more fun for artsy stuff.

  19. Chantelle Kemp at 3:16 am

I have my own special pen, its just an average roller ball pen but, its special, its got curves where they should be and comfort where its needed 🙂

  20. CJ Nightingale at 12:56 pm

I like fountain pens and ballpoints — while I tend to prefer the former, not all paper is fountain pen friendly and a good ballpoint can be a lot of fun.
(I don’t like gel pens and haven’t tried rollerballs.)
